Thoughts

Hello from California. It's windy and cold outside; the type of weather that you see in scary movies. I just returned home from cooking school. Our feast tonight was dreamy, absolutely dreamy. Beef bourguignon, Spaghetti Bolognese, Braised Lamb Shoulder with Gremolata, and a massive chocolate cake among other things. I'm stuffed and sleepy. My body is going to need a meat detox and a 10k run in the morning.

I returned home from Utah yesterday evening. If you don't know anything about Utah you should know that the greatest part about Utah is the people. Mormons. No, they don't have horns and are not polygamists. Our town is 99% Mormon and I am so grateful for that based on the fact that they are the kindest and most thoughtful people ever. This food was dropped on our doorstep in a big package. Homemade Wheat Bread, Cheese, and butter for grilled cheese with Homemade tomato soup. Dessert was a cake and canned apricots. I am so thankful for all of you.

Being home means spending time with family, playing in the snow, and my mother's cooking. This week my aunt contributed to the mix and made these beautiful roasted veggies for lunch. mmm ((Roast with Italian Seasoning and Olive Oil at 400 degrees for 20 minutes (or till tender))

Travel Notes

I'm back in Cali and eating oatmeal. I think I have an addiction to it. I had it for dinner in the airport the other night... it's not that hard to eat healthy when you are traveling. Just go to Starbucks order a tea and an oatmeal and pile the nuts, raisins, and (if you're like me) the chia seeds that you carry around with you. Done deal.

P.s. no one guessed who I was working for in SF but Clarisonic was close! I was working for the Tria Beauty Laser Hair Removal system! There will be more granola later! Thanks for the guesses and have a lovely sunday! I'm off to cooking school... xx
