Oatmeal Addictions

One of the reasons i'm off sugar is because of it's addictive nature. I hate the feeling of NEEDING something. I guess that is also why I don't drink coffee or alcohol. Although, I do like a little baby coffee once in a while at cooking school while i'm falling asleep (they have ridiculously good coffee). Anyway, I've been eating oatmeal for breakfast consistently for the last month (since I've been traveling and oatmeal is my best friend). When i'm home I try to change up my breakfasts because eating the same thing-every day creates a lack of 'variety' within your diet and therefore a lack of different nutrients.

So anyway, I feel like I'm becoming addicted to oatmeal! I went two days without eating it because I was too cheap to buy steel cut oats and thought i'd just eat variations of the quinoa I already had for Breakfast and Lunch. I had a weird feeling of anxiety and just did not feel complete. So now that i've kicked my sugar 'addiction' I apparently have a mild form of 'oatmeal addiction'? awesome, just awesome.

So anyway, I just read this...

I'm pretty sure it's someone making fun of something like what I just wrote but... interesting/humorous none the less. xx

WBC

Baseball has officially begun with Spring Training and the WBC. We celebrated at Sushi Roku (party of 24!) for Janai's, Nicoles, and Melissa's Birthday.
This chocolate molton cake smelled and looked (can't comment on the taste) so so so good.
I got to sit next to these two beauties at Game 1 of the WBC. We lost but it's okay... Game 3 today and I've got a good feeling about it! If i'm wrong then-well-that stinks because I've already packed for Miami.

food porn sunday

The name of this post is probably too much being that it is Sunday and my home town is probably appalled. But ya know, it was appropriate--minus the flowers. Look what we've been cooking! mmm!!

Mis en place for Coco Van. I was SO scared to make this. I was legitimately dreading it and was so careful to do everything correctly. It seemed to me that this was the number one dish i saw messed up on food network. It wasn't going to be me. For those of you who don't know what it is, it's basically a braised chicken dish with wine, parsley, onions, and mushrooms. It's delicious and time consuming.

finished product!
This was a braised Moroccan dish. It was phenominal!
